Your teeth and gums, against your own baseline.
Teeth and gums change over weeks and months, so a single photo shows nothing. Two photos a week, framed the same way every time and compared with the first weeks, show what is actually moving.

Consistency is the whole measurement.
Two photos of the same mouth taken at different distances or angles differ more than a month of real change does. So the app frames every photo the same way, and waits for your baseline before it tells you anything.
- 01
Two photos, once a week
A relaxed smile, then your teeth together with your lips pulled back, as if saying "eee", so the gums show. It lives beside the WellnessScan under the Scan tab: flip the switch at the top.
- 02
The camera lines you up
It reads where your mouth is and coaches you closer, further or to the center, then takes each photo itself once the framing holds. Your baseline photo sits faintly over the camera so every week matches the first.
- 03
Three weeks, then change
Your first three weekly checks build the baseline and show how steady your photos are. From week four, each check is compared with it and you read what changed, area by area.
- 2photos, once a weeka relaxed smile and the "say eee" shot
- 3weeks to build your baselinethe first read arrives in week four
- 6areas comparedeach one described in plain words
Six areas, each in plain words.
Each check says whether an area looks the same, a little different, different, or cannot be told from these photos. Angle and light are reported too, so a check that could not be compared is labeled as one rather than read as a change.
- Tooth positionWhere each tooth sits against your baseline photo, the change braces and aligners make and the drift that can follow them.
- Gum lineWhere the gum edge meets the teeth. Change here is slow, which is why it is read against week one rather than last week.
- Gum colorColor and puffiness along the gums, described as it looks: redder, paler, the same.
- Shade and stainOverall tooth color and stain, which is also how whitening shows its progress week to week.
- Visible buildupYellow or white deposits along the gum edge, where a photo can see them.
- Chips and wearChips, cracks and worn edges on the front teeth.

A photo shows the surface. It says so.
It cannot see between your teeth, under the gums, inside a tooth or the bone underneath, so it cannot find a cavity or measure gum health the way a dental exam does. A check that reads "same" is not a clean bill of health. It never names a condition: when a change is worth a word with your dentist, it says that, and nothing more.
- Your photos are yours: kept in your record, shown to nobody, deleted with a check or your account.
- A fresh baseline after braces, aligners, whitening or dental work, so treatment is not read as change.
- The same SmileScan on iPhone, Android and the web, in one history.
Keep your regular dental visits. This is something to bring to them, not a replacement.
